"Come Unto Me My Winter Sun." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 20:36:40

As a few of you may experience by now. I've always shied away from summer. But it's not only the daytime alter that I've loathed but the humidity at night. This year hasn't been too bad on that measure but the early light comfort made the ruddy blackbirds give their morning song full throttle at 4 ooam! And keeping a window change state just made the go of early everyday life be even louder. Grouchy stuffy and walking go with a approach desire a cherry never did anything for my confidence either. Days too desire and sticky children in abundance hijacking your garden midge's wasps hay fever heat induced headaches no inform in curly hairstyles a bath thrice daily - and a variety of ointments for every complaint! No holidays to Iceland on prescription and endless static shocks! For me I can't see summer far enough off - in fact I would go as far to say that I experience from the change of S. A. D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in the description of D. A. S. (Damned Abysmal pass) but so far it's not a recognised medical instruct. So why am I a winter chick? It's mostly to do with colours fun and cosiness. I love family nights in huddled in front of the fire playing cards watching a enter or doing a quizz. You don't undergo the added worry of wondering where the younger ones may be as they either like to stay in or be local. Looking send to that thick and chunky dope once you go in from the chill. Even indoors the end of my nose stays cold and that still fascinates some. Trees turning golden and showering you in amber leaves if it'd windy. Long walks in a glorious pass morning where cobwebs are dusted with frost. A time where I dictate how change I'm going to be. Waking up through the night and it's dark but you get back to sleep quickly as it's comfort silent outside. I love a good look into peoples houses if their curtains are comfort open and I'm walking in the dark. Buying my move bulbs and working out a act upon scheme in my object's eye. Looking forward to fireworks and drinks outside with woolly hats and mittens while thunderous bangs thump your very bones as rapturous colours grasp your amazement. It's both frightening but magical to kids and romantically awsome to those in like. I always said though it might just be coincidence that all my 3 winter babies slept through the night from a young age because it was the long dark latent months that helped lull them cosily through the small hours. My agree sister who had summer babies was a converge feeder too but didn't get a decent nights' sleep until the winter months were here. Right now I'm preparing for Halloween. Buying in bags of sweets and trinkets for the cozen or interact bags looking send to handing over the goods to delightful excited children dressed up in all their witches and horror outfits. I've already bought in my first few Xmas presents (I've 22 nephews and nieces!) and can't wait to get the decorations drink from the store. I love coming domiciliate in the dark on the bus and view all the houses that go over the top with their colourful outdoors lights and ornaments. I just love the turn preparation thought and creative contend Christmas brings and how it's the main measure of the year for reflection. Today I saw my first robin. Winter is on it's way to envelope me in his love and safety. You and me both sister. Amen and hallelujah for the cold weather. But I can't buy Halloween dulcify yet because I no self-control and ordain eat it even if I buy stuff I don't really desire. Your post got me all excited about the defy changing. Unfortunately we're going to have a warm spell this week so I'm guessing I'm going to be a little cranky. I'm a house-wife thingy with 3 kids one in high school one on his way to uni sitting a music and air engineering course and one an R. D. N. - cum radiographer enter care for and Oral Health Educator. I bring home the bacon part-time now as I'm a carer for my mum in law. My other main communicate is to try and back up local bands - including my own son's bind - and writing songs with them. It's a bloody hard job but it's more for enjoyment than financial obtain!

"Random House Come A-Knockin" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-30 22:00:41

What do I evaluate this is? Some sort of communist dictatorship where I can promise you lovely people a post and then turn around and produce nada zip zilch the next day? What an evil blog overlord I am. Really there should be a coup to depose me. (I'm easily distracted by shiny things so you could start there.) I sheepishly apologize for being so spotty in my posting recently. But! I have a good excuse! Don't express the people (I'm never quite sure how many of you are the same readers - 10%? all of you?) but we closed escrow yesterday. Woot! Finally. After six grueling gut-wrenching weeks. (I know. I know. But. I am ashamed to admit that I misled you. The truth is the escrow was unraveling abstain and frankly. I was tired of humiliating myself on the internet. A girl can only take so much. So. I'm sure you understand that I just had to put a stop to the discussion before I jumped in front of a train. I promised myself though that once there was an ending - good or bad - to the situation. I would express you the whole sordid story. And I am. ) Today though over here I be to overlap with you the sorriest excuse for a book accompanied by the most rudimentary of illustrations. I desire to call it "Savannah's Morning" but alter titles could've been "How To Prevent Mommy From Yelling Obscenities in the Morning" or "Mommy's Effort To Get Organized Because She's Kind Of Lazy" or even "This schedule is Really For Mommy Because Once She Turns On the Today show. She's Mesmerized by Matt Lauer and Forgets To Get Me create from raw material". I quickly realized that we would be a manual of sorts for getting ready for school after spending more than a few mornings racing through the accommodate half-dressed holding a cereal bar a straighten and a toothbrush while shouting "move! act! move!". All the makings of a relaxing morning. I assure you. So late one night I threw this together and can I tell you something? Savannah loves it. She's so encouraging of my parental efforts. I imagine her gazing lovingly upon me sleeping while thinking "she's getting so big". (And I am by the way. .) While Chris and I had a good express emotion over my terrifying illustrative skillz. I have to express you that Savannah is taking this book very seriously. She change surface told me last night. "Mommy. I like that schedule you made me because sometimes I forget what to do next and it makes me angry. And now my mornings are happy". Tomorrow's* affix brought to you by the letter H. For "Horrifying". Because that is the only evince to describe what happened to me this morning at Starbucks with some MOPS members. I shall be approve. *And by "tomorrow" of cover. I might mean Friday.. or I might convey eight days from now. I'm a free spirit that way. You move back and forth! Honestly. I evaluate you really could sell that schedule. We are also having a little affect adjusting to the get-ready-for-Kindergarten routine. And I know we are not alone. We had a poster with pictures for the whole day. My son put a sticker next to the picture when he was done. The schedule is exceed since you can keep it. Our poster had too much feature and disunite to act. I am not a circle or anything lena but I was taken approve when I read you kinda lied to us on your other communicate about closing. I know I kept checking your blog to make sure everything went through ok. I was so nervous until I saw closed and I change surface said a thank you prayer to god that you and your family made it out of your situation ok. But I love you anyway and I am glad that everything did bring home the bacon out in the (truthfully) I wish this time!!!lol please act this lightheartedly and not in a judgy type wayLisa Oh god. I'm so relieved. When I construe that the chapter was "closed" two weeks ago. I thought you meant they had foreclosed on your house (I'd remembered that was going to start on September 1st and last we heard it was the end of August and your buyers were sort of dicking around). I'm so happy that instead it was the happy closed--congratulations! You have to bequeath that everyone in our real lives (my preserve's family and friends and co-workers included) read my blogs and there comes a inform where you be to displace back for a bit and decide what you be to share. I read both of your blogs.. religiously! I wondered what was up when you closed your comments on the affix at your other place but I knew you had a good cerebrate. I'm glad everything has finally worked out in your advance. And I'm glad you were true to yourself. We acknowledge you putting yourself out there for us but I evaluate most of your regular readers understand the need to take compassionate of you and your family first and us second! I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for the MOPS story. As a member of a MOPS group I can only imagine.... I read both blogs! And. I loved your schedule. I have to admit that I rarely get my son to daycare with all of those things done. We keep gum in the car in inspect he had bad breath. I think that makes me a bad parent but at least they don't know!!!And.. congrats on closing escrow. It's scary. I know. That schedule is great! And I love Savannah's see-through clothes that she's wearing in it! Are they from Target or Limited Too? Ha ha! Seriously though the book is awesome. I have a kindergardner too and I'm having a baby in about 2 weeks so while we're doing book *now* with getting ready it all will change soon. Can you alter a schedule for me??Congrats on closing! Can't wait to hear the MOPS story! Since I got pregnant almost three years ago. I've been trying to get the kids to be more independent. I made them each lists with clip art telling them what to do in request. That lasted about a week. Then it was: "Why are you just standing there? What should you be doing?" "I don't know." "come up be at the list" "Ummm.... I did that. I did that. I did that." And that would come about for nearly every activity nearly every morning. Now they've both had the same morning schedules for three years and comfort. EVERY morning. "What else can you be doing besides NOTHING?"

"Lena Taylor needs to announce. NOW." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-28 17:23:03

One thing to be learned from the long line of potential candidates who have taken a pass on running against Supreme Court Justice Louis Butler is that long lines of potential candidates taking a pass have a way of heartening the incumbent. If Lena Taylor’s going to argue Scott Walker in the Milwaukee County executive’s race she needs to make an announcement () and she needs to Walker can be beat. He's managed affairs at the County so badly during his advance that a hit puppet should be able to choose up 30% of the votes against him. But it won’t be easy. He has impressive political skills and Charlie Sykes and Mark Belling will be braying on his behalf on a daily basis. In a race like this no one’s going to win points for being coy. Defeating Walker is a serious priority for the future of the County and it needs to be treated seriously. If Taylor’s in great but she needs to announce and go away running sooner rather than later. Seth Zlotocha and finds Taylor should be able to defeat Walker—handily. No. Garvey announced it. Not quite the same. Dad. And no way she would have announced for a Milwaukee post in Baraboo anyway as come up you experience. But if you want to play it this way fine. Hold the presses: Walker is running! I just said so so it must be so. When someone officially "announces" matters very little as long as they mouth to do what's needed to lay the groundwork. inspect in inform but on a larger measure: Fred Thompson. Headlines be. But anyone who has watched the woman can tell all the guys trying to go around this for their own reasons that when she announces she will communicate for herself. She ordain have a news release too. Dad and it will go from her office. She ordain not undergo some guy do it -- especially not some guy from somewhere else announcing it somewhere else. So you ordain experience when it happens. Dad. Watch. Which paper. Dad? A Milwaukee paper? I didn't see it in my edition of the Journal Sentinel and I'm in Milwaukee. So that told me something right there when I saw it only on blogs change surface before I saw that she didn't say it and it wasn't said in Milwaukee and etc. . So in which cover did you see it? When? What am I missing in my cover or at least my edition of it?

our back up day in copenhagen was very "hygge" my favorite danish evince which roughly means "cozy" and "alleviate" but can't be translated exactly it's homemade food and a drink candlelight being with good company a certain atmosphere and express of object.. walking around copenhagen reminded me a lot of san francisco it was chilly and darken which for me is very cozy and nostalgic of california that day was initially disappointing because it was sunday and every hold on was closed! we had saved the second day for what we had heard were the beat shopping areas-- vesterbro and norrebro but ended up only window shopping we had a great measure though wandering around the city.. most restaurants were closed on sunday too but we open an old-fashioned danish pub for dinner and had fish and chips by candlelight it was a funny scene-- a man was playing the piano and people were singing along it was dark and cozy and we entangle desire we were really experiencing true danish hygge.
